Over the years, we accumulate a lifetime of special memories and mementoes. Your belongings tell the story of your life. Wouldn’t it be nice if those items could continue to do good for the community? Maybe those items could be used to help someone else create a special lifetime of memories.
Consider donating to Goodwill. The Goodwill Estate & Downsizing Program is a special service designed to help senior citizens and their caregivers during difficult times.
Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, Inc. will pick up items:
- From your nursing home, retirement home or assisted living facility
- From a person moving into a retirement facility, nursing home or assisted living
- From an elderly person moving in with a family member
- From an elderly person downsizing to a one-story home or condo
- From the passing of a loved one
- After an estate sale
Donation Guidelines:
- Estate Donation: 3 room apartment/house, full contents, GIC will pack and have appraised
- Senior Downsizing: 3 room apartment/house, contents include pictures, wares, etc. Items must be packed by owners.
All donations are sold in our retail stores. Revenue from these sales goes towards funding our job training programs and services to prepare people to secure and retain employment and build successful independent lives.
