Can Goodwill Help Me Find a Job?

Every 53 seconds of each workday, Goodwill places someone in a good job.

Goodwill staff regularly contact local employers to learn about jobs that are available, and then they connect job seekers with these employment opportunities.

Goodwill provides job seekers with resources that help them conduct job searches, write resumes and practice their interviewing skills. Goodwill can also help people earn a paycheck while they’re getting ready for permanent jobs by placing them in temporary jobs or in jobs at Goodwill. Many job seekers find work in Goodwill retail stores, or at one of their many business or government contract work sites. After placing someone in a job, Goodwill staff may follow up on a regular basis to find out if they are continuing to do well on the job, or if they need more training, on-site job coaching or additional services.

A major part of Goodwill’s mission is to contribute to Maryland’s economic development by providing a trained workforce to businesses, aiding in the growth and retention of public and private industry. Individuals are placed into positions that match their skill set by our experienced Job Placement Coordinators at Goodwill Headquarters, Goodwill North or through Goodwill Staffing Services, a full service temporary employment agency.

Job seekers are placed into many positions including: Data Entry, Clerical, Warehouse, Industrial, Retail, Hospitality, Customer Service, Construction, Assembly, Manufacturing, Custodial/Cleaning, and Healthcare.
